Theatre day

Yesterday Terence took Bianca to Starship for her monthly visit. It was also day 1 of our 84 day cycle and so that meant theatre and that meant they were there pretty much the whole day. We left the house at 8:30am and I think I picked them up at around 5pm or 5:30pm. All good, we are used to that by now, so it doesn't bother us too much.

Her neutrophils were a bit on the high side and so they upped her oral chemo.

The doctor wanted a second blood test done and it turned out that Bianca's B12 and Folate levels were a bit low. We understand that this can happen when you take anti-virals for a long time. Bianca's been taking Acyclovir 400mg 4 times a day since she got shingles at the beginning of last year. So now we need to only give a half a tablet 3 or 4 times a day. It feels weird to have to suddenly give less than before, but I guess with the end of treatment in sight and only 3 months away, it makes sense to start cutting down on the medicines that might not be quite as essential anymore and since the Acyclovir is really just a preventative medicine, it seems the right decision. It still feels weird though.

And of course we have steroids this week, but so far so good. Although experience taught me that by around Wednesday I can expect things to become more challenging (and this week will be particularly challenging as Terence is in Wellington for work and so I'll have to do this by myself). Fingers crossed it will be one of those better weeks.

Good luck with steroids. I don't think I could handle Pete on steroids by myself.
Glad that another LP is over and done with too.
Take care,
