Terence to audition for Borat in next movie.

I've always been interested in growing facial hair so bartenders will stop asking me for ID. I have tried previously but ended up with something halfway between a full spade shaped beard and a neat little goatee - I called it a spoatee but everyone else called it stupid. Thank goodness it was in the time before digital cameras - so no online photos! Now there is an initiative afoot which has encouraged me to try again.

Movember is a charity fund raising event held during November each year. At the start of Movember guys register with a clean shaven face. We then have the rest of the month to grow moustaches. We get sponsored by the public and the money goes to the Prostate Cancer Foundation of New Zealand.

Every year in New Zealand 2,656 men are diagnosed with prostate cancer and about 600 die of the disease, making prostate cancer the second largest cause of male cancer deaths, after lung cancer. All donations are made directly to the Prostate Cancer Foundation of New Zealand who will use the funds to create awareness, increase support networks for those men who suffer from prostate cancer, fund research and scholarship programs.

To see more checkout the Movember website. To sponsor me click on the link on the right of the page. I will be keeping a reasonably current photo on the website so you can keep track of how I look. I'll be starting with a general facial growth, then will trim back the excess after a week or so and just keep a moustache going. If I get more than $100 New Zealand I get to go to the end of month party (shaveathon?) for free.

Sponsorship on the website works with credit card so there is no reason for you Japies out there not to contribute. Think of the happiness you felt when the All Blacks bailed from the cup, because that basically left it uncontested. And all the Kiwis can contribute because, well, you're not going to spend the money on a new All Black jersey for Christmas anymore, are you?

My work has a team going so help me beat the rest of the team members please.
